Employment Breakfast Seminar - 14th September 2010

The Equality Act 2010 -
What you need to know

The Equality Act 2010 is due to come into force on 1st October 2010. The purpose of this new and important piece of legislation is to provide a complete overhaul of the current discrimination legislation that is in place.

The Equality Act represents a very significant development to areas of discrimination legislation and employers need to be fully aware of the changes. It is therefore important for all senior managers and HR managers dealing with employment issues to be fully familiar with the Act before it comes into force.

Sejal Raja and Charlotte Stern invite you to join their practical workshop to consider the key changes in the Act, including:-

· Harmonisation and extension of discrimination law;
· Changes to pre-employment health questionnaires;
· Discrimination by association or based on perception;
· Equal pay; and
· Dual discrimination.

The practical workshop will explain how the new Equality Act will affect your organisation and help you identify what you need to do to ensure you comply with the new obligations before it comes into force on 1st October 2010.

Date: 14th September 2010

Breakfast 8.30 – 9.30
